With complimentary hats and noisemakers for youngsters, family-friendly entertainment, inflatables,

photo backdrops and props, glitter tattoos, face painting, and a balloon drop countdown.


Select Central Market vendors will be open with food and beverages for sale.

WARM 103.3's Liz Bell and Chris Tyler will serve as MCs for the event.


At midnight, watch the white rose drop, followed by 

fireworks display at Continental Square

Parking meters are free after 5 p.m. in the City of York.


Please note: Market Street from Beaver to Duke and George Street from Philadelphia to King will be closed from 11 p.m. on December 31 until approximately 1 a.m. on January 1. Parking will be restricted in that area beginning 9 p.m.

HeidelBean Coffee House
Heidelberg UCC will hold its HeidelBean Coffee House on New Year’s Eve from 6-10 PM.  Wick and Brahmii and the Stray Catechisms will rock the house with great music.  Drop in for coffee, snacks, table games, conversation and free Wi-Fi. Stop in to hear our pipe organ from 6-8 PM.  Welcome in the New Year at Heidelberg.
Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Capitol Theatre
It’s the weird and wonderful as newly engaged couple Brad and Janet encounter a problem when their car halts in the rain. They both look for contact, only to find themselves at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite. A place to stay is offered, but will Brad and Janet want to remain there? Especially when a large group of Transylvanians dance to the ‘Time Warp’, Dr. Frank-N-Furter builds his own man and a whole host of participation for the audience to enjoy.

New Year’s Eve Gala at the Yorktowne Hotel
New Year’s Eve rocks to a mix of live Ballroom, Swing and Latin music provided by the Gettysburg Big Band Orchestra and filled in with DJ "V" during the breaks in the Grand Victorian Ballroom of the Historic Yorktowne Hotel. Non-stop toe-tapping night of dance with a full course sit down dinner offering a choice of three entrées. Noise makers, Champagne or Sparkling Grape Juice at midnight. Doors open at 7p.m. Dinner is served at 7:30 p.m. Band Starts at 9 p.m. Cost: $76.00 per person for dinner, dance, and Champagne Toast ($78.00 with PayPal). Belgian New Year Celebration at Mudhook
Celebrate the New Year, Belgian style! Join Mudhook Brewing Co. on Dec. 31 beginning at 3 pm for a night of giveaways, Belgian-inspired food and, a celebration of Belgian Dubbel craft brew!  It’s a Belgian Dubbel New Year to of course honor the beer and also celebrate a double (or ‘Dubbel’) New Year kicking off with a “pint drop” at 6 pm and again at midnight. All guests will have the opportunity to enjoy their beverages outside on Cherry Lane will listening to live music and enjoying the crisp night air.
Candlelight Concert at York Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse 
Back by request, Flute and Friends Duo (Flutist Ed and Harpsichord/keyboardist Fran Norton) will delight York audiences again giving two performances on New Year's Eve At the York Friends (Quaker) Meetinghouse, 135 W. Philadelphia St. at 7:00 and 8:00 pm.  The Duo will give an informal concert of baroque and light classical music including works by Bach, Mozart, Handel, Borodin, Schubert, Haydn, Stravinsky, Telemann, and others intertwined with anecdotes and humor.  Beverages and snacks will be available. The concerts are free, donations are welcome.
