York to Celebrate Labor Day
Mayor C. Kim Bracey invites all residents to celebrate Labor Day, September 4, 2017, at Kiwanis Lake with FREE family friendly activities! “This will be a great event to celebrate the last summer holiday with friends and family. Let’s remember that Labor Day is a day set aside to pay tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our community and country.”, said the Mayor.
Events will kick off with the annual Youth Fishing Derby, sponsored by the York-Adams County Central Labor Council, from 8 a.m. to noon for ages up to 15.
From 5pm – 6 pm musical entertainment will be provided by the jazz group Extremity. From 6pm – 7pm the Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary will present a children’s reptile show with hands on experience with reptiles and other friendly critters. From 7pm – 8pm Positive Flow will be playing Rhythm & Blues. At 8:15 pm the National Anthem will be played and the fireworks show will begin.
