The Ninth Annual Youth Unity March will take place on Thursday, July 16 at 10 a.m. The event starts at Penn Park and finishes at Farquhar Park. Businesses, civic groups, religious organizations, summer camps and school clubs are encouraged to form a group to join this free march. The theme of this year’s event is “Change in Motion, One Step At a Time.” The event is a partnership between the York City Human Relations Commission and individuals and organizations across York County. The deadline to register for the event and to sign up as a volunteer is July 1, 2009. Download a registration form. The City of York reminds residents that street sweeping has resumed. All residents are reminded to follow posted parking restrictions. The City’s Ticket and Tow Initiative also continues this year. Vehicles will be ticketed and towed on posted streets as indicated: “TOW AWAY ZONE” and “NO PARKING, THIS SIDE,”  during specific days and times.

The City’s Ticket and Tow Initiative is an effort to maintain cleaner streets.

The fine for no parking is $25 and the charge for the tow will be $125. For questions about when a street is posted for no parking please call the Highway Bureau at 849-2320.
