From the Chief's Desk

The Department of Fire/Rescue Services is committed to providing our community with the highest degree of emergency services available.  Our members exhibit an unparalleled dedication to serve the community.  Annually, our combined forces respond to over 2500 calls for assistance.

Our proactive efforts in Fire Prevention include education, engineering, and
enforcement.  Over 8000 inspections are conducted annually.  The Fire Prevention Bureau reviews hundreds of sets of plans each year.  Various training opportunities are provided for the public.  These include the Citizens' Fire Academy and the Community Emergency Response Team.  General fire safety programs are available as well.

Our long and proud heritage is reflected today by the dedication and commitment of our skilled team of career and volunteer personnel who display the highest degree of professionalism in the performance of their duties.

Sincerely,

John S. Senft, Chief
Department of Fire/Rescue Services
