York is the nation's first capital-the Pennsylvania town where this
nation's actual birth took place. The York County Colonial Court House is
where the words "The United States of America" were first
formally proclaimed, and where the first Constitution was adopted.

The Fire Museum of York

The Fire Museum of York County is located in a turn of the century fire
house that holds the history of more than two centuries of firefighting in
York County. Some of the 72 fire companies in the museum date back to
pre-revolutionary days.

The York Junior Symphony
Orchestra
The York Junior Symphony Orchestra was founded to create a symphonic music
culture among youths in grades 5 through 8 living in York. The
organization provides moral, financial, and inspirational support to these
youths as they perform in a symphonic orchestra.
