Recovery Month

Recovery Month – September 2022

Each September, Recovery Month works to promote and support the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, the dedication of community members and service providers across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible, and new evidence-based recovery practices.

Every year, Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in addiction and mental health recovery, just as we celebrate improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease.

Join us in celebrating all forms of recovery!  We want to celebrate you – the dad, the school crossing guard, the artist.  We want to see you, hear you and rally around you, because YOU MATTER!

  • "POST YOUR PURPLE"

In 1989 the United States National Recovery Month, September, was founded and a new color – Purple – was selected as the recovery movement’s official color.  Today, the color purple has expanded its reach to include the addiction recovery movement.

This September to celebrate Recovery Month, the York Partnership for Recovery is inviting York County residents, businesses, and organizations to join the “Post Your Purple” campaign from September 1st – 30th.  This campaign raises awareness about and celebrates the success of our recovery community.

Supporters are encouraged to share pictures on social media using the hashtags #Recovery4York and #PostYourPurple.

The York Partnership for Recovery have made these documents available for businesses and organizations to post in their establishments.  Please feel free to download, display, and share.
