York City is excited to announce the launch of its new comprehensive plan, York 2044

(13 September 2024) York, PA – York City is excited to announce the launch of its new comprehensive plan, York 2044, a forward-thinking blueprint designed to guide the city’s growth and development over the next two decades. This ambitious plan aims to create a sustainable and complete community for all residents.

York 2044: A Vision for a Sustainable Community has identified the following goals:

1. 1. 1. 1. Challenging York’s Reputation.
         2. Improving Property Conditions.
         3. Making Homelessness Brief, Rare, and Non-Recurring.
         4. Increasing Access to Health Services.
         5. Eliminating Food Insecurity.
         6. Building Wealth Within Neighborhoods.
         7. Building Socially Cohesive Neighborhoods.
         8. Creating a Supportive Transportation System.
         9. Reducing Our Carbon Footprint and Greenhouse Gases.

Mayor Michael Helfrich stated, “York 2044 represents our community’s collective vision for the future of York City. This plan is a testament to our commitment to including the needs of all residents, businesses, and visitors, while creating a city that is not only prosperous but also sustainable. We are excited to embark on this journey together with our community.”

The comprehensive plan will be available for public review and feedback starting September 13, 2024, with adoption occurring at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

LA CIUDAD DE YORK PRESENTA UN NUEVO

PLAN INTEGRAL: YORK 2044

(13 de septiembre de 2024) York, PA – La Ciudad de York se complace en anunciar el lanzamiento de su nuevo plan integral, York 2044, un plan con visión de futuro diseñado para guiar el crecimiento y el desarrollo de la ciudad durante las próximas dos décadas. Este ambicioso plan tiene como objetivo crear una comunidad sostenible y completa para todos los residentes.

York 2044: Una visión para una comunidad sostenible ha identificado los siguientes objetivos:

1. 1. 1. 1. Desafiando la reputación de York.
         2. Mejora de las condiciones de la propiedad.
         3. Hacer que la falta de vivienda sea breve, poco común y no recurrente.
         4. Incrementar el acceso a los servicios de salud.
         5. Eliminar la inseguridad alimentaria.
         6. Generar riqueza en los vecindarios.
         7. Construyendo barrios socialmente cohesivos.
         8. Crear un sistema de transporte de apoyo.
         9. Reducir nuestra huella de carbono y gases de efecto invernadero.

El alcalde Michael Helfrich declaró: “York 2044 representa la visión colectiva de nuestra comunidad para el futuro de la ciudad de York. El plan integral estará disponible para revisión y comentarios del público a partir del 13 de septiembre de 2024, y su adopción se producirá a finales de 2024 o principios de 2025.
