Required Certifications and Licences

ServSafe® MANAGER’S CERTIFICATION

Food vendors need a ServSafe® Manager’s Certification to ensure food safety and public health. Visit the ServSafe website for training and certification details.


Food Truck Health License

You will need to obtain a Health License, which is issued annually. Health Department Licenses for all food-related businesses expire on December 31st each year. See the current license renewal fees.


YATB Tax ID Number

A Tax ID Number from the York Adams Tax Bureau is necessary to ensure compliance with local tax regulations. For details or to apply, please visit the YATB’s website, or call 717-854-8084.


VEHICLE INSURANCE POLICY

Vehicle insurance for your truck must name the City of York, its employees, and organizational partners as additional insureds, and the place whre you’re vending needs to be mentioned in the policy.


FOOD TRUCK OR CART

You’ll need a food truck that meets the specific health, safety, and operational standards set by local regulations. This includes having the appropriate equipment for food storage, preparation, and sanitation, as well as ensuring that your truck is equipped with fire safety measures.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A copy of all driver’s licenses of permittee and all food service workers
  • One (1) color photograph of the mobile unit or sketch design along with measurements on the photo or sketch.
  • Make, model and type of body
  • VIN or any other identifying  number
