Park Reservation/Special Event Permit Application

2017 CITY OF YORK PARK/EVENTS PERMIT
FOR PARK USE, BLOCK PARTIES, PARADES, RUNS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS:

If you are a restaurant applying for a permit, please select the option “Commercial Restaurant” on the application under the category “Type of Event.” Proceed with the completion of the application.

Application must be submitted thirty (30) days prior to the event to the York City Recreation and Parks Bureau, 101 S. George St., P.O. Box 509, York PA 17405, (717) 854-1587. A $50 late fee will be charged to any permit submitted less than 30 days in advance of the event. (Payment of late fee does NOT guarantee that permit can be approved in time for event.)

When requesting use of the Reid Menzer Skateboard Park -OR- if inflatables will be a part of the event, applicant must provide proof of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 naming the City of York as an additional insured for day of the event.

  • Absolutely no activities may be conducted in Kiwanis Lake. Individuals may not enter the lake at any time.
  • Rest rooms not available after September 30th at the following locations: Farquhar, Lincoln and Memorial Parks.

    All permit fees are required at the time of application submittal.

    Late Fee: $50.00 (charged to any permit submitted less than 30 days in advance of event)

    The basic permit fee applies to all city parks with exception of Farquhar Park Pavilion, Lincoln Park, Farquhar Park Band Shell and Parades.Basic Permit Fees:   

    City Resident – $70.00      

    Non-City Resident – $130.00

    Farquhar Park Pavilion Permit Fees:          

    City Resident           

    Up to 25 people                    $ 45.00

    25 to 50 people                     $ 70.00

    50 to 100 people                  $ 95.00

    More than 100                      $120.00

    Non-City Resident

    Up to 25 people                    $ 70.00

    25 to 50 people                     $130.00

    50 to 100 people                  $175.00

    More than 100                      $225.00

    Lincoln Park Permit Fees: (Lincoln Park has maximum capacity of 50)

    City Resident           

    Up to 25 people                    $ 45.00

    25 to 50 people                     $ 70.00

    Non-City Resident

    Up to 25 people                    $ 70.00

    25 to 50 people                     $125.00

    Farquhar Park Band Shell Permit Fee:

    City Resident

    $ 95.00                                 

    Non-City Resident

    $175.00

    Parade Permit Fee:           

    City Resident/Non-Resident – $130.00

    A Pennsylvania State Permit is required if the parade is on a state route. The application can be obtained by going to www.dot.state.pa.us Penn Dot application for Special Event Permit. It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete this form and submit the application to us when complete.

    Commercial Restaurant Permit: $250.00/day 

    BARRICADES:

    There will be an additional flat rate charged for all barricade requests.

    BLOCK PARTIES – $20.00

    PARADES, RUNS & CENTER CITY STREET CLOSURES- $110.00

    NO PARKING SIGNS:

    Fee: $1.00 each The signs for No Parking must be purchased “in person” at City Hall, 101 South George Street, Finance Dept., 1st Floor. Fee is payable separate from permit fee and is not included in permit fee total.

    SECURITY/FIREWORKS:

    Additional fees may apply as determined by the York City Police Dept. AND the York City Fire Dept. If the option is selected for security or fireworks, additional information will appear on the application in regards to the event needs.

  • HEALTH LICENSE

    If serving food a permit may be required. Upon checking the food option on the permit, additional information will appear on the application in regards to a health license.

    Fees are as follows:

    $35 for any non-licensed with the City vendor $20 for any licensed with the city vendor that is off-site
