How Do I Schedule the Collection of Large Items?
The City of York’s Public Works Department is responsible for the scheduling and pick up of the collection of large items.
To schedule a Large Item please use the link provided above to access the request form.
After submitting the large item request form, here is what to expect.
- Once submitted, you will receive a call from our Large Item Attendant.
- Submitting the request form does not schedule your large item pickup.
- You will receive a callback from the large item attendant to finalize the scheduling within 48 hours.
- Additionally, you will receive an email confirmation with the scheduled date.
- Large items are scheduled seven to ten (7 to 10) days in advance.
My request has been submitted, and I now have my pickup date what DO I NEED TO DO NEXT?
- Items must be at the pickup point with normal trash, no earlier than 5:00 PM the night before and by 6:00 AM on the day of scheduled collection.
Important: Do not place items outside for pickup until you have received both the callback and email confirmation. Items should only be placed out on your confirmed pickup date to ensure proper collection.
Who Can Not Schedule a Large Item
- Residential properties that are excluded.
