951 Elm St. Structure Fire
On Friday July 12, 2024, at 6:37 pm, the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services was dispatched to 417 S. Albemarle St. for a structure fire. Upon arrival there was heavy fire showing from the first and second floors already through the roof on the Albemarle side extending well into the structure.

Christmas is less than six months away. That makes it time again for the City of York to announce its search for the best tree to place on Continental Square for the upcoming holiday season.
Scheduled Construction Projects
The following construction projects by York Water Co. are scheduled the week beginning July 15, 2024 and will affect traffic in the City of York. Pending weather or other unexpected events, the projects will affect the indicated roads
Residential Fair Parking Permits Available
The City of York provides parking permits for residents that live on designated blocks/streets during the York Fair, which runs from July 19th to July 28th, 2024.
Sh Collections Begin One Hour Early at 5 Am in York City Due to Continued Extreme Heat & Humidity the Remainder of July
Summer’s heat and humidity continue with July predominately forecasted to be in the 90’s. Trash collections will begin at 5 am for the remainder of July 2024.
PUBLIC INVITED TO OPEN HOUSE ON CITY OF YORK’S COMPREHESIVE PLAN
The City of York will be holding an Open House related to the City’s Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at City Hall, 101 S George St. All are encouraged to attend.
PHILADELPHIA STREET CLOSURE JULY 12th-14th
Due to construction at the Appell Center, West Philadelphia Street from North George Street to North Beaver Street is scheduled to be closed the weekend of Friday July 12 to Sunday July 14, 2024.
