As the state continues to seek relief to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19, today Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine revised their “Stay at Home” orders to include nine additional counties – Berks, Butler, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Luzerne, Pike, Wayne, Westmoreland and York – bringing the state total to 19 counties under a stay-at-home order

Changes to Park Systems to Encourage Social Distancing

In an effort to encourage social distancing, the City of York Department of Public Works will be making changes to city parks that include restricting access to playground equipment, skateboarding facilities, and basketball courts.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, York City curbside yard waste will be suspended beginning April 1st and for the foreseeable future until normal operations resume.

Metered Parking Enforcement Update

To provide access to essential services in our downtown core we will continue to enforce meter parking in the Market District. All other meter enforcement in the city is suspended.

The purpose of meter enforcement in these designated areas is to allow for resource users to access essential business operations for our healthcare facilities, pharmacies, banks, etc.
