In recognition of the United Nations International Day of Peace, Wake Up Rise Up Live 4 Peace will host a special peace concert and video recording on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kiwanis Lake in York.
The event will bring together musicians, artists, community members, and thought leaders in a celebration centered on peace, unity, love, and understanding. The program will feature a diverse lineup of live music, dance, spoken word, and other performances designed to inspire people from all walks of life.
The York event will serve as the 717 Stage of Wake Up Rise Up Live 4 Peace, with performances recorded for a global broadcast on September 21, 2026, in observance of the International Day of Peace.
“We are thrilled to be part of this global celebration of peace,” said Carman Bryant, organizer of the 717 Stage of Wake Up Rise Up Live 4 Peace. “Through the universal language of music and art, we hope to inspire and unite people from all walks of life in the pursuit of peace.”
City of York Mayor Sandie Walker expressed her support for the event and its message of unity.
“Peace begins right here in our neighborhoods, through the way we treat one another, support one another, and come together as a community,” said Mayor Sandie Walker. “I am proud that York is part of this global movement and that our community can use music, art, and fellowship to send a message of hope, unity, and peace far beyond our city.”
