Free Workshops for Business Owners, “Accessing Business Capital”

The City of York’s Department of Economic and Community Development will be hosting a series of free workshops for small businesses and entrepreneurs at any stage. The first event in the series will be “Accessing Business Capital,” focused on identifying various levels of funding for the different stages of business from idea to expansion.

“Accessing Business Capital” will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, 4 pm to 6 pm in downtown York at the Grotto, 2 West Market St. 2nd Fl. The workshop will feature a panel discussion with the City’s micro-loan program, Kiva, as well as bankers and community lending organizations, including M&T Bank, Fulton Bank, Traditions Bank, and Community First Fund. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to build relationships with organizations and institutions providing capital to businesses, where the capital could be best used in their business. and how to identify where funding is needed in their business. Panelists will be available for one-on-one discussions, providing actionable steps attendees can take advantage of in different phases in their business.

Skillet2Plate Soul Bistro will be providing great eats for the event, and attendees will have an opportunity to tour the Grotto space and learn about all they are doing for entrepreneurs and artists in the community.

The Department of Economic and Community Development will be hosting additional business development workshops throughout the fall, focused on helping entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the City of York.
