October 27 Street Closings And Traffic Advisories

York Traditions Bank will be sponsoring this year’s 70th annual Halloween Parade, which is Sunday, October 27, 2019. The parade will begin at 2:00 PM. The parade will exit the Madison Avenue gate of The York Expo Center. The parade will then travel south on Richland Avenue to Market Street. The parade will then travel east on Market Street through downtown York to Broad Street, where it will disband.

Once the parade starts, there will be no traffic allowed to use or cross Market Street. Eastbound traffic should use King Street. Carlisle Avenue will be closed from Market Street to Highland Avenue. Motorists will be redirected to King Street via Highland Avenue. Also, Richland Avenue will be closed from Market Street to Madison Avenue.

There will be No Parking on the following streets starting at 7:00 AM on Sunday, October 27, 2019. All persons living along these routes must have their vehicles moved prior to this time.

  • George St. — Between Phila St. and King St.
  • Market St. — From Richland Ave. to Fulton St.
  • Richland Ave. — Between Madison Ave. and Market St.
  • Carlisle Ave. — Between Philadelphia and Market St.
  • 1st Blk. North and South Broad St.
  • Richland Ave. — Between Madison and Market

Vehicles Parked On These Streets Are Subject To Ticketing And Towing!

Anyone traveling in these areas should use caution and expect delays.  As with any special event in the city.

No Dogs Or Bicycles Are Permitted Along The Parade Route.

Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution in this area due to the large number of participants attending this event.
