York Memorial Park Complex will have two new additions for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. These additions will be two full basketball courts as well as a pavilion and bathrooms for York City’s pickleball courts.
The basketball courts will be at the corner of East Boundary Avenue and Edgar Street. The project is expected to begin in mid-August and take two weeks to complete. The construction of the courts is funded by federal dollars under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
York’s pickleball courts are located along Vander Avenue. The pavilion and bathrooms will be erected nearby. The project is expected to begin in July with an anticipated completion date sometime in late September or early October. The construction is entirely funded by grants and donations by the White Rose Pickleball Association (WRPA).
The City of York is committed to ensuring recreational opportunities within its borders. York City has a total of 25 parks for the use of the public.
