On Thursday March 05, 2020 at 0802 hours, the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services was dispatched to 608 South Pershing Avenue for a structure fire w/entrapment. In spite of an aggressive interior attack and search, Mr. Brandon Eaton of 608 S. Pershing Ave. was found deceased in the home by fire department personnel.
An investigation was conducted by numerous agencies, the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services, York City Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police and County of York Detectives. As a result of the investigation, the fire was determined to have started in the first floor front room. The cause of the fire was determined to be an unintentional fire as a result of carelessly discarded smoking material.
