Online payment of bills for garbage and other refuse is now up and running at https://www.yorkcity.org/city-services/refuse-payments/. This web page can also be found by clicking on the “City Services” tab or under the “Pay” block on York City’s home page at www.yorkcity.org.
Customers should have received a refuse bill this month for the first quarter of 2025. Billing for refuse in 2025 will be quarterly instead of monthly. Previously established automatic payments through York Water Company were discontinued when the City took back billing for refuse starting in 2025.
In addition to online payment, customers can pay a refuse bill in person at City Hall, located at 101 S. George St., Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Customers may also mail a check made payable to “City of York” to the Office of the Treasurer, 101 S. George St., York PA 17401.
