On Friday August 30, The City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services two (2) newest fire officers will be sworn in by Mayor Michael Helfrich at City Hall, in Council Chambers.
Captain Adam Smith
Captain Adam Smith will be sworn in as an Assistant Chief. Chief Smith started his career with the City of York on August 9, 2010. Chief Smith was promoted to Captain on July 21, 2016 and was assigned to B Platoon. Chief Smith will remain on B Platoon as the Platoons Assistant Chief.
Firefighter Kevin Pflaum
Firefighter Kevin Pflaum will be sworn in as a Captain. Captain Pflaum started his career with the City of York on August 21, 2000. Captain Pflaum’s last assignment was Station 99-9 on Engine 99-9 on the departments A Platoon. Captain Pflaum will be assigned as the Captain to the departments B Platoon.
