Update: Outages in The City of York

In an effort to keep our community informed on the recent power outages that occurred as a result of last evening’s storm, Met-Ed and this administration have remained in close collaboration to ensure that our residents and visitors affected by this event have the latest updates. The following is the latest statement from Met-Ed for our York City community:

Met-Ed employees and contractors continue to safely repair damage from the strong storms that affected the region the evening of Monday June 21, 2021.  One of the hardest hit areas is along South George Street between Springettsbury Avenue and Country Club Road in York City where off-right-of-way trees damaged numerous poles and spans of wire.  Repairs along South George Street remain on track for completion by 11:30 p.m. tonight (Tuesday),  after which South George Street can be safely reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.  Thank you for your patience as we work to complete these significant repairs.
