The annual Light Up York will be Friday, December 1 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You are invited. The annual Light Up event brings people to Continental Square in a festive and merry spirit.
- See York’s tree lit up around 6:00 pm in the Square.
- Take the children to see Santa at the Yorktowne Hotel at 48 E Market St from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
- Live reindeer will be in the Square between 6:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
- Also expect free coffee, teas, and hot chocolate; a Winter Wonderland by Keystone Kidspace; musical performances; and the York City Police Department’s gaming trailer. All around the Square,
- Finally, Christ Lutheran Church at 29 S. George St will be having a live nativity scene. First Moravian Church at 39 N. Duke St. will be having a Christmas Putz at 7:00 pm and 7:45 pm.
York’s Continental Square is located at the intersection of Market and George Streets. Parking is nearby, including at York City garages located at 25 W. Philadelphia St. and 15 W. King St. and 41 E Market St. Please enter the Market Street garage from Duke Street.
Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow will have the pleasure of flicking the switch and reading “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
