The City of York Refuse Department has updated their payment options to include in-person payments with cash, check/money order, or debit/credit card; mailing checks or money orders payable to “City of York Treasury” at 101 S George St, York, PA 17401—please be sure to include your PIDN; and a new online payment system via https://public.opengov.com. When registering your new online account, it is essential to use the same email address as your previous account to facilitate seamless access.
The Refuse Department sincerely appreciates the continued cooperation of residents and property owners during this transitional period. The aforementioned online refuse portal is now fully operational, offering enhanced features and a more streamlined user experience, with additional convenient functionalities to be introduced shortly. Access to refuse billing accounts through the old Tax and Revenue portal has been discontinued. Phone payments have also been discontinued.
During this transition, residents requiring assistance with their refuse accounts may contact our team for support. Payments can be made in person at the Treasurer’s Office, located at 101 S George St, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or via the Dropbox positioned in front of the payment windows. All checks and money orders should include your PIDN and be payable to the City of York Treasury. Our staff is available to assist in person, via email, or by phone from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be contacted at 717-849-5223 or Refuse@yorkcity.org.
