Mayor Sandie Walker proudly announces the appointment of a new Chief of Staff for the City of York’s executive office, a key strategic leadership role that will support the Mayor’s vision for effective governance and community-focused service.
As Chief of Staff, David Mackereth will oversee internal operations for the City of York on behalf of the Mayor’s Office, facilitate strategic initiatives, and serve as a principal advisor to the Mayor. In this role, the Chief of Staff will also work closely with department heads, City Council members, and community stakeholders to promote collaboration and effective communication between city departments, and ensure efficient delivery of city services.
Most recently Mackereth served as Chief of Staff, York Plants & Mines for RHI Magnesita, and held previous roles in Human Resources with The Stewart Companies, I.B. Abel, and in State Government. He will begin his role with the City of York on February 16.
