We are excited to remind everyone that the Olde York Street Fair returns this Sunday, May 11 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Fair will host many vendors selling a variety of crafts and food. Bring the family! There will be a Kids Fun Block with games and face painting.
The Olde York Street Fair, held on Mother’s Day and remembered by many, is a long-time tradition dating back to 1975. This year is its first return since COVID. Mayor Michael Helfrich will kick off the festivities at 11:00 am, and the National Anthem will be sung.
Activities take place in and around Continental Square. The three city parking garages (41 E Market St, 25 W Philadelphia St, 15 W King St) will be available and free to the public. If you are parking in the garage at 41 E Market St, you will have to enter from Duke St due to the closure on Market St.
Parking restrictions on Market St (between Grant and Duke), Beaver St (between Philadelphia and King), George St (between Philadelphia and King), and Pershing Ave (between Philadelphia and King) will be effective 6:00 am on Sunday morning. Roads fully reopen at 7:00 pm. Motorists are encouraged to use Philadelphia St, Penn St, Princess St, and Queen St to get around the event.
The city requests visitors to not bring dogs due to unpredictable behaviors. Bicycles are not permitted to be ridden through the event area. Persons riding bicycles through the event area are subject to being cited by the York City Police.
