“The 2021 Turkey Salute” (dinner curbside pickup) will close Penn St between Market St and King St from 8:00am to 2:30pm.
Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Day)
“Turkey Trot” will close Market St. from Penn St. to Pershing Ave. and King St. from Newberry St. to Pershing Ave. from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No Parking will be permitted on Market St. from Penn St. to Pershing Ave. from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Vehicles parked in that area will be ticketed and towed. There will also be intermittent road closures along the race route including Market St., George St., Springettsbury Ave., the southwest neighborhood near Jackson St. and Pershing Ave., around Penn Park, Beaver St., and King St.
Saturday, November 27
“Light Up York” will close Market St. between George St. and the Wells Fargo Bank (1st block E. Market St) from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will also be events happening on each corner of the Continental Square at Market St. and George St. Large numbers of pedestrians are expected at this event.
Motorists are asked to use extreme caution around these events and throughout the City during Thanksgiving week.
