For the next several weeks many people will be at home instead of at work and school. We anticipate an increase in the amount of normal household trash, which will be the priority for our hauler to collect.
Keep in mind that the hauler and incinerator may at any time experience a decrease in staff and/or a decrease in operating hours depending on how this situation develops day to day.
For this reason, we are not scheduling ANY large household items such as furniture and appliances. Please hold onto those items and keep them INDOORS. Property maintenance inspectors may still cite violations for unscheduled items that are placed outside properties.
If you already have a scheduled pick-up date for this week or for next week, those scheduled items WILL be collected.
The large-item line will NOT accept ANY messages during this time period and no new addresses or items will be scheduled until further notice.
Any necessary phone messages regarding collection of normal household trash, recycling and yard waste may be left on the City’s Public Works line at 717-849-2245 as this line will be checked periodically by City staff.
