Department of Public Works Director Chaz Green to Leave Post on June 10, 2024

Mayor Michael R. Helfrich congratulates Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Chaz A. Green on an exciting new opportunity to advance his career with the Public Works Department of Washington, DC. This will also provide Director Green with more opportunity to spend time with his family. Mayor Helfrich has accepted the resignation of Mr. Green and his last day with the City of York will be June 10, 2024.

“It is with deep regret that I accept Chaz’s resignation. Under his leadership, the Department of Public Works has developed and implemented innovative plans to improve the services which the people of York rely on. While we will miss his contributions, we fully support his decision to prioritize his career and his family at this time,” said Mayor Michael Helfrich. “I want to thank Chaz for his seven and a half years of service to the City of York and wish him and his family the best in the future.”

The Director of Public Works is appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of a majority of City Council. All potential candidates for this position should anticipate the advertisement of this position coming soon.
