On Saturday September 21, 2019, approximately 25 active and retired members of the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services and their families will be joined by Mayor Helfrich in Colorado Springs, Colorado to attend the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Wall of Honor Memorial Service.
Fire Fighters Ivan Flanscha and Zachary Anthony who were killed in the Line of Duty on March 22, 2018 at a fire at the Weaver Organ and Piano Building will be honored along with 249 other fallen fire fighters who died in the line of duty within the last year.
FF Flanscha and FF Anthony’s name will be forever etched into the large granite Wall of Honor Memorial at the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial which is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The IAFF Wall of Honor has more than 8,000 names of IAFF members who were killed in the line of duty dating back to 1918.
