Today Mayor Michael R. Helfrich is proud to announce a partnership with The Parliament Arts Organization and rabbittransit to provide free fixed route bus rides on all York and Hanover scheduled fixed routes of the rabbittransit system on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd 2020.

“The City thanks rabbittransit and Collin Holder of The Parliament Arts Organization for their leadership in improving our citizens’ ability to have their voices heard at this important time in American history.” said Mayor Helfrich. A recent Pew Research survey found that 33% of people plan to vote on Election Day, highlighting that transportation to polls on November 3rd will be critical in voter turnout. Working together to bring people together is one of my passions and is at the core of the mission of The Parliament Arts Organization.” said Collin Holder, Executive Director, The Parliament Arts Organization “When I was approached with the concept of this partnership by Mayor Helfrich, I knew it was something that should be supported.”

“Mobility is critical for individuals to live a full life.  November 3 is no exception.  We are excited to partner with The Parliament Arts Organization and the City of York to remove barriers for our residents to access perhaps what is the most important civic duty – voting.” said Richard Farr, rabbittransit Executive Director.  “Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘We do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.’ This partnership will assist our neighbors by allowing them to fully participate.”
