Honorary Naming of Keith Beatty Street

On Monday, June 26, 11 am, at East Boundary Avenue between Vander Avenue and Edgar Street, honorary signage will be placed to establish Keith Beatty Street. The current signage will remain as well.

Keith Beatty was born in York, Pennsylvania and attended William Penn High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force, became a certified marriage and family therapist, and earned a Doctorate in the Humanities.

He was a Pastor, a track coach, and Founder/CEO of the Mission Home for Christ and Mission Home Ministries before moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 2004. His work in York led to many awards: the Great American Family Community Award presented by First Lady Nancy Reagan; a citation from the House of Representatives; a tribute from the Senate of Pennsylvania; a Role Model for Young People Award in 1991 and 1997; a York County Community-Based Program of the Year Award; a Service to Mankind Award; and the Spirit of York Award.

He was a loving husband of Sylvia Beatty and a loving father to 11 sons and daughters. He passed on March 25, 2023. Keith touched hundreds of people, if not more, during his time in York.
