National Public Works Week

Mayor Sandie Walker and other representatives from the City of York will join Jim Phipps, Director of Government and Business Affairs for the Central PA Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) on Wednesday, May 20th at 1 pm in celebrating National Public Works Week. The location for the press conference is the City of York’s Highway Garage at 118 N. Broad St.

The observance highlights the dedication, skill, and service of the teams that keep our infrastructure strong, our neighborhoods safe, and our daily lives running smoothly.

National Public Works Week, established by the American Public Works Association, is celebrated each May to honor the tens of thousands of men and women who design, maintain, and improve public infrastructure. These services range from roads and bridges to water systems, sanitation, fleet services, parks support, and more, forming the backbone of a community’s livability and resilience.
