The following streets will have PARKING RESTRICTIONS in place for the meter move out by Columbia Gas.
Parking Restrictions for October 12 – October 16, 2026. All parking restrictions will be from 7am-5pm.
- 400 block of S. George St.
- 500 block of S. George St.
- 600 block of S. George St.
The following special events are scheduled for this weekend and will include associated street closures:
Friday October 9:
- York High Homecoming Parade will happen between 5:00pm and 6:00pm. It will start at Princess St and Beaver St, travel east on Princess St to George St, north on George St to Hamilton Ave, and east on Hamilton Ave to Small Field. Intermittent road closures and lane restrictions will be used along the parade route. Motorists are encouraged to use Duke St or Queen St as an alternate route.
Saturday October 10:
- Octoberfest will close Rockdale Ave between Roosevelt Ave and Stewart Ave between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
- Dining in the Street will close George St between Philadelphia St and North St between 3:00pm and 10:00pm.
- York High Homecoming Dance will close Princess St between Beaver St and Pershing Ave between 4:00pm and 8:00pm.
This is a list of the areas we anticipate road work. These dates and times are subject to change.
The City of York announces a full closure of North Beaver Street Bridge No. 358 to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic for construction through the end of the year.

- Delaware Avenue between Texas Avenue and N. Hawthorne Street (Monday, October 12th 7:00am – 4:00pm)
- N. Hawthorne Street between Texas Avenue and 740 N. Hawthorne Street (Tuesday, October 13th 7:00am – 4:00pm)
- N. Hawthorne Street between Florida Avenue and Texas Avenue (Wednesday, October 14th – Thursday, October 15th 7:00am – 4:00pm)
