The City of York provides parking permits for residents that live on designated blocks/streets during the York Fair, which runs from July 19th to July 28th, 2024.
In order to identify a resident’s vehicle, a permit system was developed. All residents living within the established area, wishing to park their vehicles on the street during the fair, must have a permit properly displayed to avoid receiving a parking fine. There is a limit of three (3) permits for each household. Please bring proof of residency and registration cards for each vehicle needing a permit.
Permits are valid only within one block of the holder’s residence. Parking outside of your immediate area could result in a fine. Motorcycles WILL be issued a permit. Motorcycles SHOULD PARK ON THE STREET AND NOT THE SIDEWALK.
Street sweeping in the residential fair parking area will be suspended during the fair.
All normal parking laws remain in effect. The parking permit does not give you permission to park illegally.
Permits are available Monday, June 17th, 2024 thru Sunday, July 28th, 2024. Permits will be distributed from the Treasurer’s Office in City Hall located at 101 South George Street weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from the Police Department (located at 50 West King Street) weekdays from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
