The City of York provides parking permits for residents that live on the designated blocks/streets during the York Fair, which runs from July 24, 2026 to August 2, 2026.
Permit requests must be submitted at https://yorkpa.portal.opengov.com/
Permits will be available online beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026 through Sunday, August 2, 2026. Once the permit request is approved, residents will be notified for pickup at the location designated in the request.
Pickup for the Fair Permits can be at the City Treasurer’s Office, 101 S. George St., from 9am-4pm or from the York City Police Department, 50 W. King St., from 4pm to 10pm.
All residents living within the established area who wish to park their vehicles on the street during the fair must have a permit properly displayed to avoid receiving a parking fine. There is a limit of two (2) resident permits and two (2) visitor permits for each household.
Please bring proof of residency to the pickup location once notified that it is ready.
Permit is valid only within one block of the holder’s residence. Parking outside of your immediate area could result in a fine. Motorcycles WILL be issued a permit. Motorcycles SHOULD PARK ON THE STREET AND NOT THE SIDEWALK.
Street sweeping in the residential fair parking area will be suspended during the fair.
All normal parking laws remain in effect. The parking permit does not give you permission to park illegally.
FAIR PARKING PERMIT GUIDELINES
- Permit parking is in effect 24 hours a day for the duration of the fair.
- Parking Enforcement Officers will be on patrol during this time.
- Permit must be displayed on the driver’s side rear window so it is visible from the street. We ask that you tape the permit to the window.

- Permit must remain with the vehicle it was issued to. The license plate on the permit must be the same as the license plate on the vehicle.
- Permits cannot be transferred or resold from one vehicle to another.
- Permits must be properly displayed by midnight July 24, 2026 or the vehicle may be subject to a parking citation.
