The City of York provides parking permits for residents who live on designated blocks and streets during the York Fair, which runs from July 24, 2026, through August 2, 2026.
Permit requests must be submitted at https://yorkpa.portal.opengov.com/.
Permits will be available online beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026, through Sunday, August 2, 2026. Once a permit request is approved, residents will be notified that it is ready for pickup at the location selected in the request.
Fair permits may be picked up at:
- City Treasurer’s Office, 101 S. George St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- York City Police Department, 50 W. King St., from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
All residents living within the established area who wish to park their vehicles on the street during the fair must have a permit properly displayed to avoid receiving a parking fine. There is a limit of two resident permits and two visitor permits per household.
Please bring proof of residency to the pickup location once you are notified that your permit is ready.
A permit is valid only within one block of the holder’s residence. Parking outside your immediate area could result in a fine.
Motorcycles will be issued a permit. Motorcycles should be parked on the street and not on the sidewalk.
Street sweeping in the residential fair parking area will be suspended during the fair.
All normal parking laws remain in effect. A parking permit does not give permission to park illegally.
Fair Parking Permit Guidelines
Permit parking is in effect 24 hours a day for the duration of the fair.
Parking Enforcement Officers will be on patrol during this time.
The permit must be displayed on the driver’s-side rear window so it is visible from the street. Please tape the permit to the window.
If the vehicle’s driver’s-side rear window is tinted, the permit may be placed in the center of the dashboard. Placing the permit in the wrong location may result in a parking citation.
The permit must remain with the vehicle for which it was issued. The license plate listed on the permit must match the license plate on the vehicle. Permits cannot be transferred or resold from one vehicle to another.
Permits must be properly displayed by midnight on July 24, 2026, or the vehicle may be subject to a parking citation.
Residents or non-residents requesting a visitor permit, or anyone with questions, must contact Mary Shoff-Scott, Assistant Parking Manager, at 717-849-2230.
