The City of York has partnered with the Incremental Development Alliance to offer a one-day workshop on small scale real estate development. The workshop is designed to help attendees analyze what makes a good project, how a building makes money, and how small developers interact with the broader ecosystem of professionals in the built environment.
Mayor Helfrich said, “Working with the incremental development alliance is an excellent opportunity for every resident that has the dream of developing that vacant lot or building in their neighborhood. This event will allow participants to learn everything from foundation to follow-through on helping to improve their neighborhood and businesses their way.”
By the end of the workshop, aspiring developers will feel more prepared to take the first steps on their own project. The free, pre-workshop event will be offered this Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 6 p.m. which will help attendees understand what the December workshop will entail and why it will benefit their goal of building their development portfolio.
“This workshop will be a game-changer for people who want to “build the block” and learn how to take advantage of the resources available to them. Our city can overflow with opportunities, IF THE PEOPLE are equipped to create opportunities FOR themselves. This is a step towards that,” said Sharee D. McFadden, Economic Development Specialist with the City.
