American Water Co. has begun line reconstruction along sections of Prospect St to correct dips and depressions in the sanitary and storm lines. The current lines are not allowing proper drainage to the mainlines at Poor House Run.
The project is expected to take 6 months and is divided into 3 stages.The first stage will take place from Lamour St to Vander Ave; the second stage, Vander Ave to Girard Ave; the third stage, Girard Ave to Courtland St. Each section should take one to two months to complete.
Using gated traffic lights in the construction area, one lane of traffic will be open. The traffic controls will be in effect 24/7 during work on that area. The traffic lights and traffic restrictions will move following the three construction sections. There will be no on-street parking permitted in the section under construction. No parking notices will be posted in the construction sections at least 48 hours prior to the start of work.
The school district will permit residents to park in the north parking lot of Hannah Penn Pre-K-8 School, near E Church Ave.
