Led by City of Aguadilla Mayor Julio Roldán Concepción, dignitaries from Puerto Rico will be visiting the City of York from September 22 through September 26, 2025.
Aguadilla is York City’s newest “sister city,” with a proclamation recognizing this arrangement signed by Mayor Michael Helfrich and Mayor Concepción on August 25, 2025 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico The sister city arrangement is intended to facilitate economic development, tourism, education, trade, community engagement, and good will between the people of the two cities.
The public and press are invited to attend a ceremony in honor of the visit at York City Hall, 101 S George St., 2:30 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. An open reception will follow. Stay tuned for details.
Mayor Helfrich reached out to the City of Aguadilla earlier this year to be York’s third sister city. The goal is to foster relations with a Hispanic city in light of York’s own Hispanic population. York’s two other sister cities are Arles, France and Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany.
