Due to extensive damage and deterioration, the City of York announces the indefinite closing of the Rockdale Avenue Bridge, based on recommendations from the City Engineer. The bridge, which begins at the intersection of Rockdale Avenue and Edgar Street, has sustained extensive scouring over time, making it unsafe for vehicular traffic.
Motorists attempting to reach Memorial Park Complex, Reid Menzer Skatepark, the York City Arena, Roll ‘R’ Way Family Skating Center, and York Catholic High School, must now use Vander Avenue to access those locations. City officials will continue to work diligently to address this issue as an immediate safety concern.
