On Friday, March 27th at 2pm, the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services will be honoring members and agency partners for achievements in the past year. We will also be recognizing the Firefighter of the Year for 2025. The officers will be sworn in by Mayor Sandie Walker at Voni Grimes Gym, 125 E College Ave, York, PA 17401.
Individuals will be provided a brief training on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and receive a Narcan kit. It is essential that every individual consider obtaining Narcan to help save a life.
The City of York would like to inform residents and visitors that city-wide street cleaning will resume on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., weather permitting. Street cleaning will continue through October 28, 2026.

Thanks to the generosity of York County Community Foundation, in partnership with the Cultural Alliance of York County, a $1,000 honorarium per year for the two-year term of York City’s new Poet Laureate is being provided.
The City of York announces that curbside yard waste collection will resume beginning Monday, March 2, 2026. Residents may begin placing yard waste at their designated pick-up location on their first regularly scheduled trash collection day of the week.
