American Water Co. has begun line reconstruction along sections of Prospect St to correct dips and depressions in the sanitary and storm lines. The current lines are not allowing proper drainage to the mainlines at Poor House Run.
Mayor Michael Helfrich announces the retirement of Chief William Sleeger Jr. after 33 years of service with the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services, effective January 18, 2026. “I thank Chief Sleeger and his family for the decades given to serve and protect our residents, our property, and the City of York,” said Mayor Helfrich. “A job well done.”
On Friday, December 26, 2025, at 3:43 am, the City of York Department of Fire/Rescue Services was dispatched to the 900 block of Edison St for a residential structure fire.
