Curbside Collections Delayed 1-Day (Thursday/Friday) Following Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Thursday, November 27th, ALL regular curbside trash collections on Thursday and Friday will be delayed one (1) day.

York City Council to Proclaim, “Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Awareness Week” and “Red Shirt Day” in The City of York, PA

This initiative aims to educate the public about the prevalence of youth homelessness, the barriers students face in attending school, and the mandate of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Final Curbside Yard Waste Collections Mon 11/24 & Tues 11/25

The City of York’s Yard Waste Drop-off site will be closed for winter, January through March, and will reopen, weather permitting, on the first Saturday of April, 2026.

York Community Christmas Tree Arrives Wednesday, November 12th

The City of York today announced that the community Christmas Tree will arrive in Continental Square in downtown York on Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025. Work in cutting down the tree will begin at 7:15 am. The tree will then travel 3.1 miles to its new home.
