Rain Date for The 48th Annual York City Easter Egg Hunt at Kiwanis Lake

Due to the weather forecast, including possible rain and gusts of wind, the 48th Annual York City Easter Egg hunt has been moved from this Saturday, April 1st to Saturday, April 8th. The time will remain from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The location will remain Kiwanis Lake. The egg hunt is for children ages 1-13 years of age. This year’s event will feature Kid Zone by Atomic Bounce, Easter Crafts by POP Crafts, Coloring Station by Parliament Arts Organization, and a bike raffle sponsored by various community members as well as organizations. Food will be available for purchase from Bricker’s Fries. All music and announcements will be provided by DJ Cashmere. This event is sponsored by ES3, Etzweiler Funeral Homes, and City of York residents and organizations.

Snow Removal Policy for Businesses

As we begin the winter season of 2022-2023, the City of York snow emergency team wants to remind businesses of some of the York City Snow Emergency Regulations Specifically, as they apply to plowing of private parking lots and the disposal of snow. These regulations have been enacted for the safety and protection of the driving public as well as residential, business, and industrial citizens in York City.

York City Curbside Collections Delayed One Day Following Thanksgiving Day Holiday

Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Thursday, November 24th, ALL regular curbside trash collections on Thursday and Friday will be delayed one (1) day.

York City Final Curbside Yard Waste Collections Monday December 12 and Tuesday December 13

The City of York’s Yard Waste Drop-off site will be closed for winter, January through March, and will reopen, weather permitting, on the first Saturday of April 2023.

Free Walk with Ease Program at YMCA of The Roses

Many York City residents are suffering from Arthritis, a painful condition that not only affects quality of life but also has the potential of having dire health consequences. In fact, the CDC reports that 289,839 York residents have Arthritis. To help combat this issue, the YMCA of the Roses (formally the York YMCA), is hosting a walking and stretching program. In partnership with the York City Bureau of Health, the YMCA of the Roses is implementing the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease program, a six-week evidence-based program that increases participants’ mobility and decreases pain from Arthritis. Studies by the Thurston Arthritis Research Center and the Institute on Aging of the University of North Carolina show that the program is proven to:
